Our ministry has for several years now (except 2020) taken the month of September to sabbath and rest from prayer ministry appointments. This is important to us for a few reasons, including:

1. It helps us reorient around Jesus as Savior and shed off any encroaching savior complexes, which can so easily sneak onto your shoulders in this type of ministry.
2. It allows our prayer ministers to have a much-needed time to rest and be poured into.

Did you know that in addition to faithfully serving in prayer ministry, each of our ministers works full-time jobs inside and outside of their homes? They serve, serve, serve and are such a blessing to so many. Hence, the needed time to rest and receive.

Part of our time off in September is spent on a ministry team retreat. It is a sweet time to get away for a weekend, love on and encourage one another, reflect and praise the Lord, and have some good ol’ belly laughs.

In the past, as a small and growing ministry, this event has been funded by our prayer ministers. We all split the costs, and it has been wonderful. We’d like to change that this year.
